| The 959 first appeared at the 1983 Frankfurt Motor Show as a group B four wheel drive project car. In 1986 three pre-production cars finished the Paris-Dakar rally first, second and sixth. One year later the first street versions were delivered. But in 1988 after 220 units it proved to be very costly and Porsche stopped the production. | ||||||||||||||
